At the Venice Biennale this year, Caroline James has taken initiative to highlight the voices of women in architecture. An online video project released last week, “Voices from Venice: Conversations at the 2014 Architecture Biennale with Women Who Practice Architecture,” is a piece of James’ ongoing effort for gender equality in architecture, beginning with adequate recognition. Compiling five 15-minute interviews with practicing professionals, Caroline Bos of UNStudio, Louise Braverman of Louise Braverman Architect, Odile Decq of Studio Odile Decq, Yasmin Shariff of Dennis Sharp Architects, and Benedetta Tagliabue of Miralles Tagliabue EMBT discuss their experiences in the contemporary architecture world.
